One of the current exhibits at the cultural representation of Japan in France -- Maison de la Culture du Japon -- is about men and robots -- Hommes et robots (pages in French). This exhibit, which started on October 28, will last until January 31, 2004.

And Asimo, the fantastic robot from Honda, is in Paris until November 22. I must admit Asimo's presence on stage is overwhelming. You'll find below several pictures of the 1.2 meter high and 52 kg robot which will give you a -- very poor -- approximation of his show. In particular, there was a crucial moment I was unable to catch, when Asimo received an Eiffel Tower from the -- human -- presenter's hands, and put it on a table several meters away. And now, here is the show, full of *special* effects.

Take a look at Asimo going down fast.

Now, Asimo is moving pretty fast.

Of course, he showed it could climb stairs.

And he couldn't help dancing.

Finally, here is the official poster for this exhibit.

There are three presentations per day until Saturday. You can get free tickets by going -- physically -- to the Maison de la Culture du Japon at noon.
